Withhold food after midnight the night before surgery

Limit fluid intake the night before and remove water entirely the morning of surgery​

Payment is required prior to arrival
BEFORE SURGERY

Arrive by 7:15 am
- ​Remain in your car

Staff will call in the order texts are received

Please respond to all pre-op questions truthfully. Your pet's life depends on it.
UPON ARRIVAL

Check-in is from 7:30-8 am
-
Allow up to 45 minutes for check-in
-
Please do not come into the lobby until you are called & told to do so
-
Any additional services added on must be paid for prior to surgery​

Please have your pet's vaccine records readily available
-
Rabies vaccine is MANDATORY! If you do not have proof of vaccination, you will be required to pay for one
CHECK IN
Check-Out
-
Your pet will recover for at least a few hours after they wake up from surgery
-
They will be given a little bit of food and some water
-
Once the animal is alert and moving around well, you will receive a text that he or she is ready for pick up
-
Pickup is typically between 3-5 pm
-
When you arrive, text 573-615-4558

​You will be asked to come in​ by text

A member of our staff will bring your pet out to you in the lobby

Please pay any outstanding balance
Check-Out

Staff will go over your pet's discharge instructions with you
-
Your pet may eat and drink as usual
- Dogs discharge with a cone and medication to keep them calm for a few days​

There are no stitches to remove
-
Males' incisions are left slightly open to drain
-
Prevent your pet from licking the surgical site
-
You may notice a small green tattoo indicated they've been sterilized
Post-Op Recovery

Inspect the site surgical site regularly for 7-14 days to check for signs of infection or problems with healing

If your pet is not eating, drinking, or toileting normally, or is behaving abnormally, contact us for a free recheck appointment

If you notice pussy or bloody drainage, redness or heat near the surgical site, contact your local, 24-hour emergency vet care clinic​

Limit your pet's activity level and prevent other pets & children from playing too roughly
-
Do not allow other pets to clean or groom the incision site
